I agree that a tension has developed between equality and liberty in our political process. My studies have taught me that liberty as an end in itself cannot be a path to equality, but a better understanding of equality would maximize the liberty that co-existing people can share simultaneously (including less governmental presence in people's lives, not more): "Equality Is All We Need" here in Medium.
