I agree, but all conservatives will reject this wholeheartedly. They have convinced themselves that liberalism is pure evil, and to consort with evil, much less compromise with it, is to sell one's soul to the devil. It began with Reagan and has morphed into a majority of the Republicans in the Congress (House and Senate taken together) supporting the claim that the most recent presidential election was "stolen" by Biden.
