I agree.

We could also make a positive systemic economic change — within the context of the existing system. This proposal would end the seemingly inescapable 'need' to maximize total output in order to maximize employment, total income, and the collection of taxes (at whatever rates exist) — among other good outcomes — without having to tear down anything.
