For the record, Democrats and Republicans had negotiated an overhaul of our immigration system. Mr. Trump told his supporters in the Congress to vote against it. For some reason, even though Republicans are the ones who stonewall attempts to change our immigration system, the mess that it is gets them votes, which encourages more stonewalling by them.
