First, thanks for such a cogent article on this existentially important topic.

My studies (I do have an M.A. in economics) have taught me that the outcomes of the existing economy for human beings and the planet can be transformed with a single--big--change within the existing system (a system virtually all nations have in common). Demographics would govern total output (passively but effectively) and there would be no unemployment or poverty at any level of total output. (I stumbled upon this paradigm in thinking about how to make the existing economy more just.)
