First, thanks for, as always, an excellent essay. The point is well made and well taken.

For me, I only recently read Brave New World. I was most surprised to learn that in the book people who insisted on opting out of that society were allowed to go live with other like-minded people on the island of the person's choosing. Compared with 1984, in which Winston is threatened with having his face eaten by rats if he does not conform, please give me Huxley's version of dystopia).
