One approach to greater economic equality would be to establish a maximum ratio (say, 20:1?) for any and every business (and government) between the employee with the highest total compensation and its employee with the lowest compensation.
A truly revolutionary approach to a solution would be to establish a "democratically distributed income," funded by creating money as needed, that would be the pay for every employee of any business or government. Unconstrained benefits could be allowed--or not. The same process could be used to fund all government, from local to central (at the current per capita rate of total government spending), thus putting an end to taxation (as long as government did not exceed anywhere its allotted funding).
