First, thanks for a most interesting article. I heartily agree that "passions" must be taken into account.

As I understand it, you are identifying two overlapping, intersecting realms that are in need of reconciliation internally and with each other: the personal and the social. As Michel Foucault saw, it all comes down to relations of power.

As individuals, the internal regulation of power among competing centers is a moral issue. That is always a profoundly subjective, personal matter.

Socially, regulating power in relations among individuals and between all organizations and institutions and individuals is what the issue of justice is. So what is needed to pull it all together socially is a "compossible" understanding of what justice is--to include its protections and the obligations it entails.

My studies have taught me that the ethic of justice is mutual respect. If curious, "Mutual Respect as the Ethic of Justice" (here in Medium, but not behind the paywall).
