Excellent article, but I have to say I find it odd that anyone could be surprised that imagination is needed to solve problems. My understanding is that as a physicist Einstein was a so-so mathematician; it was his imagination that set him apart from other physicists.

When it comes to math I'm no Einstein, but I have imagined an alternative monetary paradigm that -any nation could adopt that would achieve “De-growth with Only Positive Effects” (no tradeoffs or burdens to be apportioned within society). Total output would be governed, passively but effectively, by demographics--with no unemployment or poverty at any level of total output.
