'Equality' definitely is in itself a problematic concept for governing society. It does, however, contain an ethic of mutual respect--which in fact is what is realized in a democratic political process. That suggests that mutual respect can be an ethic for governance in general: it can be applied to the economy (the process of producing/acquiring goods/services), which always has been and will always be a part of any human society, as well as the political process (also a ubiquitous societal process). We don't have to tear down anything to get to a better society.

If you read it, you will find reference to a "democratically distributed income" that could possibly become the pay for every employee of any business or government--with or without differing (in-kind) benefits for different positions.
