Don't we need to distinguish between scientists who are out to make a buck and the actual process of science? As well, isn't science itself different from scientists' personal views that extend beyond their work as scientists? To be sure, those who are after money or influence, philosophically or even spiritually, should themselves make that distinction clear, but do not always do so.
