Democrats’ plans are not bad. Even so, I have an idea to contribute. It does not require abandoning other initiatives. It is a new, big idea, but don’t the challenges of these times call for a new big idea?

This idea accomplishes a lot with one change. It could be implemented with a single Act of Congress. At bottom, it is ‘only’ a new and different way of supplying the economy with money. As it deals with economics, I’ll relate for the record that I do have an M.A. in that subject.

This proposal would not require tearing down so much as one piece of the existing institutional structure. It would not require limits of any kind on income or property/wealth. It would not require changing behaviors.

It would provide the means to eliminate unemployment (at no cost to anyone), poverty (without having to redistribute anything), taxes (of all kinds), and public debt (at all levels of government) while making the existing economy stable and self-regulating (with built-in safeguards against inflation). It would help ameliorate environmental destruction of all kinds because demographics would govern output — passively but effectively.

www.ajustsolution.com (The link might not work.) I got to this idea in thinking about a really just economy, but it can be evaluated as a strictly economic proposal. I have also published relevant essays here on medium.com, including “A Cure for the Ills of Capitalism” and “Extending Democracy to Our Capitalist Economy to Transform Our Society.” This proposal could also be implemented through the Fed (or any central bank): “A Call for a (Further) Central Bank Revolution” (though it would be directly funding government).
