Bringing ideology into your argument makes it clear where your intellectual priorities lie. The GDP’s of the most developed nations include more services than industry or mining/forestry. Services are environmentally lower-impact than those other two, to include the carbon footprint. Per capita is a better measure of a nation’s carbon footprint because it also takes into account the behaviors of individuals, not just the production of goods and services.
