At 70, life has taught me that for anyone, all truth is whatever that person accepts it to be--but we do have a duty to be sincere and authentic in deciding what we accept as true, not simply taking whatever furthers our own interests and desires to be the Truth. It must be that which determines our actions, not merely a justification for doing what we want.
