As I see it, the problem is the waning of traditional Liberalism (basing the just governance of society on equality and liberty) as its conceptual and practical inadequacies are being revealed. What is needed is a new approach to justly governing society. Here is one candidate: "A New Liberalism" (here in Medium, but--for the benefit of any 'guest readers'--not behind the paywall).
