As I see it, the Bible and all other texts that claim to be holy were written by mere human beings. Our faith evolves as we come to our own understanding of the message. Our understanding, which forms our personal relationship with (my personal understanding of) God, is always different for all people: no two Believers share the all of same beliefs about the Bible.

My understanding of Jesus's message is that what matters is how we treat other people. Homosexuals are as capable of treating other people in a way that is pleasing to God as anyone else is, are they not?

As for Paul, in many ways he simply didn't understand the message of Jesus the way I do.. Rejecting Paul is not the same thing as rejecting the message of Jesus.
