As a citizen of a Red State in the U.S., I can assure one and all that life in this state--as opposed to what woud lbe expected, given the verbal spewings of some those 'representing' the state in the national spotlight--is nothing like the lunatic 'governance' of England as described in this article.

It is better to be lucky than good: the size of the U.S. dictates a governmental structure with a buffer between local governance and national political theatrics. In England, without such a buffer, political theatre has created a governing reality that actualizes its ludicrous rhetoric. Unsurprisingly, it is bizarrely, surreally, reflexively self-destructive.
