All adherents of all ideologies have a "self-righteousness problem." So do all adherents of all theologies.

That's because all ideologies and all theologies are based on beliefs. All beliefs of all people are perfectly valid for the individual believer because all it takes for a belief to be valid is for a person to accept its validity. To hold a belief is to be literally 'self-righteous' regarding it.
