After WWII ‘managing’ the economy, through the government, became the primary goal of society. In the 1980’s the central bank (in the U.S., the Fed) took over ‘managing’ the economy.

Now the speculators have taken over the central bank. They have made saving their financial skins the primary goal of society. To paraphrase John LeCarré, the fat rats have taken over the ship.

I for one am about ready to suffer any consequences, however bitter, to free ourselves from the suzerainty of those vermin. Fortunately, there is a way for us to accomplish that while treating ourselves to ice cream: “Re-thinking the Economy’s Fuel System” here in Medium.
