Access to information/knowledge can be socially controlled to various degrees in various ways, but my point is that knowledge--i.e., sufficiently verified information (where, as postmodernists have demonstrated, every individual has the capacity to be the judge of "sufficiently")--related to material existence is entirely different from beliefs (as accepted knowledge/truths that are independent of material existence). People's judgements of information related to material existence can be determined by subjective influences, including but not limited to beliefs, which explains rejecting the knowledge that the planet is getting warmer, insisting that the U.S. presidential election of 2020 was "stolen" for Biden, etc.
