A war of tyrannies against nations with democratic insitutions that includes an economic front seems to be developing. I don't see how the democracies can win. Most of the world is governed by tyrannies of one kind or another. For that matter, non-tyrannical forms of governance have been only occasional flickers of light in the darkness that is the history of governance within civilization.

On the other hand, global warming is coming for every nation on the planet, regardless of its form of governance. The nation-sate will be an early victim. The warlords who will take over the remains will not be able to rule over more people than they can feed.
