A macroeconomic solution exists that any nation can apply to its existing economy. It would eliminate unemployment and poverty at no cost to anyone, without having to redistribute anything.

The solution is a “democratically distributed income.” It would not be paid to every citizen, but any (adult) citizen could become eligible for it. The amount of the income would be set high enough to end poverty. The money for the income would be created as needed. The total of the income would be the supply of money (as currency) for the economy. There are built-in safeguards against inflation. The same process can be used to fund government — from central to local —without taxes/public debt.
